The latest wave of celebs wearing the look, have opted for more of a color-block look, meaning there is a defined contrast between shades. Notice there isn't a solid line between shades (it's still softly blended) but you can easily spot the point at which the color shifts.
When requesting this look at the salon, I think it is important to note that the darker shade runs all the way down to the cheekbone before the change to the lighter color. This is crucial because it makes the over all look appear to be 'on purpose' and not just grown out roots.
One last thing to remember with ombre, is that you need to stick to the same tone throughout the look. Warmer browns should pair with copper or golden ends, while cool or ashy roots should transition into a cool blonde finish.
What do you think? Ombre forever, or ombre no more?
