I have never been to the Himalayas, but I have always been intrigued by that part of the world and the people of Tibet. I studied Tibetan Monks for a period in school, and my bucket list wouldn't be complete if I didn't include a stay at a Tibetan monastery. (a girl can dream, right?) Their culture is so different than mine- and I know I would have so much to learn from their experiences and their more holistic ways of treating their bodies.
When I read about Sibu Beauty and their use of the Sea Buckthorn Berry from Tibet... to say I was intrigued is an understatement. I couldn't wait to get my hands on some of the products and experience just a little piece of the Himalayan Mountains right in my own bathroom.
Sea Buckthorn is a small berry that grows in the harsh climate and altitude of the Himalayan mountain range. Sibu harvests the berries and uses their powerful ingredients in their all vegan, cruelty free, and fair trade approved beauty products. The reason? This tiny fruit has massive omega fatty-acid power, that is proven to revitalize skin hair and nails on a cellular level. (It's a Doctor Oz. favorite for its' beautifying properties)
I have recently added the Nourishing Face Cream to my daily and nightly regimen and I am loving the results. If you've read me blog in the past, you know I struggle with acne- so finding skin creams that moisturize without breaking me out, is tough. The Sibu cream is the perfect balance between moisture and oil control for me, and I have seen a noticeable change in the texture of my face since I began using it. It has a light citrus smell at first, but then you get a shot of a wheat-grass-type smell, which really drives home that fact that these products are 100% natural and the benefits are coming from nature made medicine- not something that was produced in a lab. It absorbs quickly and easily and works great underneath makeup.
If you struggle to get your hair to grow or you have very brittle nails, Sibu's Liquid Buckthorn Supplement will help the health of your hair, skin, and nails from the inside out. It's a citrus tasting 'shot' of goodness that will amp up your vitamin intake each day while strengthening the cells in your body responsible for hair and skin health. You can also get the benefits of this super fruit in a capsule form- but I love a little morning shot glass action instead :)
I am excited to try more of the Sibu products. Count me as a believer in this little orange ninja-fruit. Anything that can survive the harsh environment above 12,000- feet, must have some seriously resilient qualities that we could all benefit from.
