ASK THE EXPERT:HOW DO I FADE DARK SPOTS QUICKLY?

Oooh Wee! This subject is a doo-zie (is that how that's spelled?) Today in my Ask The Expert video I am continuing my Makeup & Skincare series and answering another reader question that came through instagram. @JessieMariko wants to know how to lighten dark spots and scars quickly.

While there is no magic cure for lightening up pigmentation on the face, we can certainly help speed up the process with the use of some good products. Check out the video below for my recommendations, and a look at a LIFE CHANGING beauty secret that I use every. single. day.

  1. Can you recommend a good eyelash curler. Mine are short and I need every boost I can get. I once read that drug store brands just don't work as well as more expensive ones. True??

  2. Hi Kelly. I agree that high end curlers work better- usually the pads on them are made from better quality silicone, not rubber. And the joints squeeze tighter for better results. I would also suggest that you use a waterproof mascara, as those tend to help the curl hold much better that non-waterproof formulas. My favorite curlers are the Tarte Curler: http://bit.ly/112ar7D or the Shu Uemura Curler: http://bit.ly/1fBOsM6 Hope that helps! Good luck, Megan

    1. Thanks for the suggestions. How often do they need replaced? Or can you just get pad replacements?

    2. Most of the high end curlers come with an extra pad. You can replace it as you see fit- if its breaking down and not as firm. But I usually change mine about every 6-9 months. And yes, some brands offer separate replacement pads too.
