runway hair ideas, best hair from NYFW Fall 2014, Desigual, Carolina Herrera, Noon by Noor, Herve Leger, Venexiana

New York Fashion Week is still in full swing throughout the rest of this week, but I couldn't wait any longer to share with you my top hair pics from the runway so far. These are all up-styles and they will serve as inspiration for what's yet to come later this year on trend.

Everyone gets in a pony-tail rut now and again, so I hope these looks give you a boost of energy and help you to branch out next time you are throwing your hair up for a day at work or a fun night out.

A Beachy Low Pony
This look from Desigual is so flirty and casual, plus it works great for shorter lengths as well. It's great for second day curls, or you can just wrap your front pieces in a large curling iron to get the loose-wave look. Be sure you add lots of height and texture with some setting spray, and drape the tail over one shoulder for added appeal.

A MAJOR Top Knot
Carolina Hererra opted for beautiful globe sized top knots in her runway show, and boy were they show stopping! The look is super clean and polished which works perfectly for large statement jewelry like the earrings pictured above. Pull your hair back and secure it, then be sure to slick everything in place with a firm hold spray. To get the added bulk, use a few clip in extensions then wrap that bun till it's good and tight!

A Teased Pony
Transition that office-ready pony into a playful night out pony, just like the style from the runway of Noon by Noor. Get your comb out and tease the heck out of the tail while adding hairspray for hold or dry shampoo for grip and texture. The juxtaposition between the sleek crown and the undone tail is unexpected and perfect for a night out on the town.

A Twisted Crown
If you're looking for an elegant style, opt for a rope twist crown braid like the ones from the Venexiana show. Learn how to get a rope twist from this past post, then wrap your twists up and around the circumference of the head to get this royal updo.

A Pop of Color
Herve Leger wowed with this high-style pony that boasted a splash of bright color. Use a fashion color extension to add a surprise element of color to your pony. You can add a new color each day to go with your mood! Need a longer pony for this look? Try these pony extensions for a quick result.
