4 STEPS EVERY NIGHT TIME SKINCARE ROUTINE NEEDS

I get asked often about my nighttime routine- what that looks like and what products I use. I also feel like more women are spending time on themselves for some much needed R&R during these uncertain times. So I wanted to share the steps that I recommend, as well as some luxury and budget favorites in each category. Remember you can always add on EXTRAS like masks or lip treatments etc., but these 4 will always serve you well. [video here]

4 STEP NIGHT TIME SELF-CARE ROUTINE FOR BETTER SKIN IN THE MORNING

REMOVE MAKEUP- a cream cleanser is great because it not only removes makeup, but it hydrates and leaves skin feeling refreshed, not stripped or dry. You can generally also use a cream more safely to remove eye makeup, so it is a multi-tasker. I also like to use a Konjac sponge to take my makeup off, they’re made from natural materials and don’t require laundering like a washcloth, and they’re not wasteful like a disposable makeup wipe. They’ll last about 3 months before they need to be replaced.

APPLY NIGHT TREATMENT- Pick a treatment that will work overnight to reveal better texture in the morning. A Retinol is the most effective for anti-aging, as it will speed up the cell turnover and keep skin looking more youthful. Careful to not over use though- so you may want to start with 1-2 times per week and then add more days from there.

MASSAGE- It may seem like an ‘extra’ but really it should be a necessary. Our muscles in the face lose strength and definition over time- and we simply don’t ‘exercise’ them the same way we do the rest of our muscles. Massage and stretching is key to keeping good skin tone. You can even go a step further and use a micro-current device for major stimulation and better results.

  • Face Gym Pure Lift (Its a big splurge, but it actually works- my lower face has seen so much improvement since I began using mine- check out their IG for some before and afters too!)

  • Finishing Touch Flawless Contour a roller with vibration for a relaxing muscle stretch, spend 10 minutes each night rolling upward for best results.

OVERNIGHT EXTRAS- I call them extras, but these are the easiest ones to implement- so not really extra at all! Keep the air around your face humidified for an easy way to wake up looking hydrated and glowy. Plus swapping out that pillow for a silky texture will ease the friction on your delicate eye area especially.

Here is to a beautiful nights rest! xo
