FULLER LASHES WITHOUT EXTENSIONS

There are certain beauty extras that I am 100% willing to invest my time and money into, but lash extensions are simply not one of those things. Maybe it’s the shape of my eyes or just the artificialness of the look, but either way, I just don’t think they look good on me…

And while I have seen some beautiful natural work on other women, I think here in Utah at least we’ve kind of lost the way when it comes to enhancing without going overboard in the lash department. I’ve talked a lot about this in the past and how lash extensions are the #1 thing I see in my industry that becomes dysmorphic for many women. If you want to hear my take on that you can watch this video explaining here.

So what would I recommend instead? Let’s take a look at a few ways to enhance your natural lashes without the need for lash extensions. [video here]

FIRST AND FOREMOST GET IN THE HABIT OF USING A LASH GROWTH SERUM OR OIL

Lashes are hair, right? Of course- and just like our hair needs good cleansing and conditioning to grow… so do our lashes. But, most people FORGET THE CONDITIONING and only focus on cleansing. What would happen to your hair if you only used shampoo? It would become dry and brittle right? Lashes need oils to thrive- and the most common used for lashes is Castor Oil. Often the main ingredient in expensive lash serums (like my all time fav Babe Lash Essential Serum - save 20% always with code BEAUTYSNOOP), plain castor oil is the bare minimum of what you should be using nightly. And not just at the base of the lashes, but along the lengths as well.

  • Babe Original 4 Real Mascara includes Castor Oil as a min ingredient, so you’re getting those long term benefits as well as regular mascara results. *save 20% with code BEAUTYSNOOP

NOW, LEVEL UP YOUR LASHES WITH THESE BOOSTING TECHNIQUES

  • Comb through lashes to separate and lengthen after mascara- just like distributing hair products from root to tip with a comb or brush, we can stretch the length of our mascara further by combing through the mascara while it is in its tacky phase just before fully drying. It’s an extra step that yields big results.

  • Powder Press while curling- think of flouring a pan before baking… the powder on your lash curler will do the same thing and keep your lashes from sticking. The key here is to be sure your mascara is fully dry before powdering and curling, but because the mascara went on first you get a much stronger curl and long lasting hold.

  • Gentle massage lids and lashes with oil cleanser nightly- not only to fully remove makeup but also to rehydrate the lashes, and increase blood circulation for maximum growth. This is the only cleanser I use to take off my makeup and I swear by it!
