BETTER RESULTS WITH A DIFFERENT MAKEUP ORDER?

The Art of MAKEUP Layering… Notice I didn’t call it a science! There are some general guidelines but no hard and fast rules. But sometimes I think we get hung up on the order we ‘should’ apply our makeup, or just simply always have. I think it’s worth a shot to swap a few things around every now and then to discover if you could be getting better results without actually buying anything new.

I like to reverse engineer it and think about the outside working in… because the outside is what people see, and is the ‘final product’ so to say.

One rule of thumb is that some formulas play better together than others, so you will have to experiment to find your perfect layering pattern. And some things like primer really won’t change in our order because it will always be utilized best between skincare and makeup.

Ok ready? Let’s flip things on their heads…

Ask yourself these crucial questions when determining your makeup layering order…

What coverage do I want in the end? Sheer, Medium, Full?

Do I want color to be at the forefront or do I want it to fade to the background?

Another great adjustment you can experiment with is how prominent you want your blush to be, and how matte or dewy you want it to be. Swapping it with powder or foundation and change the results drastically.

The only way to discover your perfect order os to experiment with a couple swaps each day. The possibilities are endless, but here are a few to consider:
